Slaughter County Roller Vixens
We are the Slaughter County Roller Vixens. An all Women's Flat Track Roller Derby League based out of Kitsap County, WA.
But where did the name "Slaughter County" come from?
Kitsap County was formed from a section of King County and a section of Jefferson County by the Legislature of Washington Territory on January 16, 1857. Originally named Slaughter County after William Alloway Slaughter, who has been killed in an Indian uprising "somewhere out from Seattle" believed to be the Battle of Renton. William Alloway Slaughter was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Our girls took this rough and tumble name to show the fierce nature of this brutal women's contact sport. |
