South Coast Roller Derby was formed in June of 2009 by a trio of dedicated skaters with a whole lot of moxie who needed a league closer to home. Tired and frustrated by the long haul on over-crowded Southern California freeways, we came together to start a league that practices, plays and promotes in South Orange County. We are comprised of veteran and rookie skaters who are committed to the idea of a sport that is run "by the skaters, for the skaters". We are an all-volunteer group of women (and a few brave men!) who devote our blood, sweat and cheers to the league. Our goals are to serve our community by empowering women, provide sporting entertainment for our fans and support charitable causes that impact the lives of women and children.
