Coming Home Concert: three National Acts, with Duluth ties, coming together for a great night of music.

Featuring:
Phil Solem of the Rembrandts-
As one half of the Rembrandts, Phil Solem is best known for the hit songs Just The Way It Is, Baby and I'll Be There For You [the theme from Friends.] But Phil's career in rock & roll is represented by far more than a couple of Top 20 smashes. Originally from Duluth, MN, Phil solem moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s, looking for a place in the emerging rock &roll scene. Phil was in and out of bands like 'Android' and 'Loose Change' and eventually ended up in the band Great Buildings, who released the album Apart From The Crowd in 1981 on Columbia Records. Although Great Buildings broke up shortly thereafter, Solem would remain pals with fellow bandmate Danny Wilde. Over the years, Phil & Danny would get together and write songs. But in 1990, Phil and Danny got together to record some demos in Danny's Southern California garage/studio. The demo was released 'as is', as the Rembrandts. The album landed in the Billboard hot 100, thanks in part to the Top 20 hit Just the Way It Is, Baby. The follow up single Someone, with Phil on lead vocals, also ended up on the Billboard Top 100. In 1992, The Rembrandts received more critical acclaim for their follow up album, Untitled. In 1995, The Rembrandts became famous for a song that was never intended to be on an album. Although the duo had recorded the 42 second theme I'll Be There For You for the show Friends, it was never intended to be a full length song. But the label insisted the duo record a full length version and include it at the end of the already finished album, LP. The rest is history.Phil also has a rock band, call THRUSH, with John Fields and Michael Bland. They released one album in 2000. In 2001, he reformed with Danny Wilde as the Rembrandts to release the album Lost Together, perhaps the duo's best album. In 2006, Rhino released a Greatest Hits Collection, which included material from all four Rembrandts albums and two tracks from the Great Buildings album Apart From The Crowd. In 2011, Phil released his solo album, HODGEPODGE. DISCOGRAPHY

5th & Birmingham -
Los Angeles' newest countryrock band, 5th & Birmingham is truly a breath of fresh air. With bold lyrics and music, 5th blends rock and traditional country sounds to produce music that will keep your toes tapping and your fingers snapping. 5th and Birmingham was founded Nov 2009, with the final piece of the band added in April 2012.
The core musicians are longtime friends, and have been playing together for some time now in
various bands and projects. Lead vocalist Desirae Wolffe really sets the tone for what this band has to offer. Add sister Jesica for some striking harmonies, and JP playing banjo, mandolin, and lap steel, and you get a
countryrockin good time. The foundation is laid down by master bassist Mo McKenzie, violin virtuoso Hiro Goto on fiddle, and 5th & B will really show you a good time.
It is difficult to compare 5th & Birmingham to any other band. With influences from classic rock to modern country to bluegrass, 5th takes notes from all musicians to develop their own sound and style. Plus, it's excellent to dance to! Check them out.

Little Faith -
LITTLE FAITH plays roots gospel music and traditional spirituals. Their debut CD, "Spirituals" was chosen by Kaleidoscope Radio for its Top Ten list and tracks from the album are played on KCSN in Los Angeles and on Americana and Triple A radio venues across the country. The musicians and vocalists in LITTLE FAITH have performed and recorded with Etta James, Patti LaBelle, Avril LaVigne, Natalie Cole, Dr. John, the Chambers Brothers, Billy Ray Cyrus, Robbie Krieger, Taylor Hicks, Pete Anderson and many other well-known artists. The LITTLE FAITH repertoire mixes black and white gospel traditions, soul gospel as well as Southern Gospel styles. Their music combines Hammond organ-based gospel with the "sacred steel" tradition based on pedal steel and lap steel guitars. Their influences also include such roots gospel pioneers as the Staple Singers, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Louvin Brothers and the Jordanaires.
