Born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn, Ari Hest is a singer-songwriter with a deceptively simple approach to lyric and melody. What at first sounds like winsome nostalgia becomes much deeper when you listen with both ears. Drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Paul Simon and Pearl Jam, Hest formed an alliance with Judy Collins in recent years, which was rewarded in 2016 with a GRAMMY nomination (Best Folk Album) for their duet album "Silver Skies Blue." With fifteen albums to his name, including two on Columbia Records, his songs are often heard on hit TV shows and between segments on NPR.
