Ergo Sum R&D
Ergo Sum is a multi-sensory exploration of the human mind utilising a combination of 3D binaural sound-scape and live performance. The production takes the form of an empathy experiment, where three simulations immerse audiences in the experience of an autistic person, a schizophrenic and a stroke survivor, interrogating what it is to be human and have an individual identity, and what happens when that identity is disrupted and thrown into question by disturbance in the brain. Sleight of Hand are undertaking an initial Research and Development process in November and December, working with Islington Mind's Hearing Voices group, TLC Care's Young Stroke Survivors, and National Autistic Society support groups, culminating in work-in-progress sharings at Apiary Studios and Theatre Delicatessen. Supported by Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund and Sennheiser.
