Are you one of the 96 million people who play Assassins Creed? Counting down the days for the movie starring Michael Fassbender to come out?
Assassins Creed is a thrilling adventure franchise that has inspired video games, comics, novels and now movies set in a mysterious alternate history that rockets between the near future and the far-flung past.
These adventures feature real world events from history and follow the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. In the games, our heroes use the Animus, a futuristic device developed by the Abstergo Corporation that allows them to experience the ancestral memories of their familys bloodline. Starting with the Third Crusade, the games and novels have explored a wide variety of settings including the Renaissance, Colonial America, the Golden Age of Piracy, the French Revolution, Imperial China, and Russias October Revolution. With settings like Victoria-era London, Ottoman-era Constantinople and the slippery rooftops of Paris, the Assassins Creed adventures are a thrill ride not to be missed.
Come and hear Matthew Kirby talk all things Assassin's Creed with a panel of experts and tell us about his new Assassin's Creed novel, Last Descendants, a historical action adventure about a group of teens caught up in the centuries-old Assassin-Templar feud. This exciting novel also features real-life historical figures including William Boss Tweed, Hernán Cortés, and renowned opera singer Adelina Patti, among others.
