If you've never heard of Atlas Obscura or the Obscura Society, mega-fans Neil Gaiman, Mary Roach, Lena Dunham, and Guillermo Del Toro will be happy to tell you what you're missing.
And you don't have to stay out of the loop for long. Join us for an evening of exploration into the strangest and most curious places in the world. Inspiring equal parts wonder and wanderlust, the Obscura Society revels in the weird, the unexpected, the overlooked, the hidden, and the mysterious - the dazzling glowworm caves in New Zealand; the M.C. Escher-like stepwells in India; the Baby Jumping Festival in Spain; and more. In an age where some people believe everything has already been explored and there is nothing new to be found, celebrate a different way of looking at the world.
Who wants to be a tourist, when you can be an explorer? That's what we thought. We'll see you soon.
