Celebrating the iTunes Release of Kamau's NEW CD (Hard copy available in early March from www.rooftopcomedy.com)...

"FACE FULL OF FLOUR!"
Comedic meditations on Obama, The Wrongness of The Right, and Why Black + White = Black.

Tired of Black History Month going by every year with nothing cool to do for you to celebrate your blackness? Tired of Black History month being relegated to elementary schools, awkward MacDonald's commercials about Harriet Tubman, and ESPN celebrating Spectacular Black Achievements in Sports? (Like ESPN doesn't do that already.) Tired of the fact that the only joke that you hear about Black History Month from comedians is "Why is it the shortest month of the year?" Well then, W. Kamau Bell's "Blacktastic Black History Month Blacktacular... Black!" is the show for YOU!

For two nights only, W. Kamau Bell aims to finally figure out what the big deal is about BHM. Kamau will give a brief history of the history of Black History Month. (Did you know that it began as Black History Week? --- NO YOU DIDN'T! STOP LYING!) Also, Kamau will talk about the current state of the Blackness including...

- The one-two cinematic punch of Precious and The Blindside.
- The fact that America has its first president who is black --- which apparently is different than having a black president.
- Is it worrying that white people are currently obsessed with vampires, serial killers, and most disturbing of all... the TV show Mad Men?
- And finally, how do you solve a problem like straight white men?

So far in his career, Kamau has, according to Comedy Central, told the first joke about Barack Obama. He has spent the past three years ending racism in about an hour through his solo show "The W. Kamau Bell Curve" which enjoyed a long run in San Francisco, had continued success in Oakland and Berkeley (several times), and played to full houses this past summer at the New York International Fringe Festival. And this May "The Curve" will return to New York City as a featured part of TerraNova Collective's 7th Annual SoloNova Festival. Kamau's been called politically in the mold of comedians like Dave Chappelle and Margaret Cho." by the SF Weekly.

Margaret Cho herself recently said of Kamau, "W. Kamau Bell is the most important guy doing comedy right now. Do yourself a favor and go see him. Hes got the most astute, hilarious and completely righteous material going and hes going to be a legend in his own lifetime like Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce. Think Bill Hicks but slightly taller."

Much like Kamaus solo show, the "Blacktastic Black History Month Blacktacular... black!" will combine slides, video clips, stand-up comedy, and personal stories for a mix that Kamau has perfected.
