Choral Arts Society Fundraiser: Performance of "The Belle of Amherst"
Chappaqua Library Theater Chappaqua, NY
Barbara Dana performs the award-winning one-woman play about Emily Dickinson, "The Belle of Amherst", written by William Luce, and directed by Austin Pendleton. Julie Harris received a Tony Award for her role in the play when it was first performed on Broadway.
This play is based on the poems, letters and first-hand accounts of Emily Dickinson. Through the artful use of flashbacks and narrative we get a glimpse into the life of the iconic poet.
After the play the audience will be treated to a reception where wine and snacks will be served, and a silent auction will be held.
