Wilderness Torah's Passover in the Desert 2010

Death Valley, CA

Passover in the Desert 2010
A Personal Journey in Community
Panamint Valley, CA
Thursday, April 1 through Monday, April 5

Passover calls on us to free ourselves from the narrow places (mitzrayim) in our lives and reminds us that true liberation is a community experiencene... no one is truly free until we are all free.

Our experience in the desert embodies simplicity, connection, tribe and transformation. Well leave our electronic devices at home as we make Exodus to the rugged desert wilderness, experiencing the joy and abundance of living, eating, singing, and praying together in the blooming spring desert. The festival will include optional services and other spiritual offerings, music, yoga, classes, communal meals, our annual Tribal Seder around a roaring fire, plus time to connect in small groups, commune with nature, and plenty of time for your own personal exploration in this powerful landscape.

Space is limited, so please register by March 1st.

Please read all the information about the festival on our website before registering... www.WildernessTorah.org.

When: Thursday, April 1 at 5PM through Monday, April 5 at noon

Who: Everyone is welcome at Wilderness Torah events. We create pluralistic, multi-generational community celebrations to reconnect us to the earth-based traditions of Judaism. Kids welcome too!

What's included: Simple and delicious Passover meals from Thursday dinner to Monday breakfast, rustic camping and communal camp structures, all programming, Shabbat and Passover ritual, learning, daily meditation and yoga opportunities, and much more. You will need to bring your own camping gear and arrange your own transportation.

Offerings: Wilderness Torah builds community that values service and opportunities for sharing our gifts. During Passover in the Desert, we will create a limited number of formal program spaces where community members can offer their talents by offering a text study, spiritual workshop, or movement practice, for example. If this interests you, please indicate this in post-registration survey, and we will send you a "Request for Offerings" soon!

Note: Please consider the option of purchasing a ticket at higher cost as a direct donation to our scholarship and work-exchange fund. If you are interested in a scholarship or work-exchange position, please email us at info@wildernesstorah.org for an application. Work-exchange applications are due by Feb. 15. Youth tickets purchased by adults will not be honored. Tickets are not refundable. If you are unable to attend, it is possible your ticket can be sold to someone on the waitlist.
