Escher String Quartet
Community Presbyterian Church Ventura, CA
Returning to Ventura for a 2010 performance, this exciting young quartet is known for inspired individual sound and remarkable cohesiveness. The name is taken from the popular and innovative Dutch visual artist M.C. Escher. Just as Escher's work speaks in exquisite patterns, The Escher String Quartet weaves sound with harmony and interplay, "painting" a beautiful musical whole. "Though they've only been playing together for two years, these performers have achieved the most unified sound that I've ever heard from a string quartet. It's a cool, emotionally restrained sound that impresses through its sheer precision and clarity." San Francisco Classical voice
