Popluar American jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock performs on the Ventura College green, Sunday, May 2. Mr. Hancock penned pivotal jazz classics such as "Watermelon Man" and "Chameleon". Hancock's early work with Miles Davis redefined jazz, and his recording "Head Hunters" was the largest selling jazz album in history. Herbie's list of awards included the 2008 "Album of the Year" Grammy for "River: The Joni Letters". Likewise his "River of Possibilities Tour" has played to excellent reviews. Bring a folding chair and picnic basket and enjoy a perfect afternoon of jazz in an idyllic setting.
