The Victoria African & Caribbean Cultural Society & Productions P. present a unique way to mark the international Day against Racism & Discrimination: March 21 by creating a "Free Racism Zone" at the Vic West Community Centre from 10 am to 7 pm then at the Copper Owl Lounge Bar from 9pm to 2am.
What is Kizomba?
Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music created in Angola. Derived directly from Zouk music, sung generally in Portuguese, it is a genre of music with a romantic flow mixed with African rhythm. The kizomba dancing style is also very sensual.
Africadancar's champion in France and finalist in Lisbon, dance instructor Djks Vasco is finally coming to Victoria for our Festival! Check him out for the public workshops he's given in South America and numerous European countries, and experience the sensuality, sweetness, precision and efficiency of Kizomba/Semba dance. Then try out your moves at the social dance party!
Vasco will be teaching with Joëlle. Joëlle is aspiring to be part of the relive team of Kizomba & Salsa teachers in Quebec City.
The BC Afro-Latin Dance Festival is Premier in its gender in Victoria. More specifically, it's a 4 day marathon mixing Showcases, Dancing, Education, and Social.
This event will take place annually from March 19 to 22. The buzz around this event is electric
