Charleston Pirate Tours April 2010
Join Eric Lavender in authentic period costume & Captain Bob, the blue & gold macaw, for an exciting, historic stroll through what was once the walled city of Charles Towne.

Featured in Charleston Museum "Pirate Tales" video exhibit and Palmetto Kidz Club television program.

Why did Blackbeard blockade the Charleston harbor?

Where was the notorious Anne Bonny's favorite watering hole?

Why did the Gentleman Pirate, Stede Bonnet, don a dress?

What was Calico Jack's connection to Charleston?

Which pirates danced the hempen jig in White Point Gardens?

Why did pirates wear eye patches?

These are just a few of the questions that professional storyteller and licensed Charleston Tour Guide Eric Lavender answers as he tells tales of historic Charleston, leading you to the hangouts, "haunts," and final resting places of pirates, who made Charleston one of their ports-o-call during Golden Age of Piracy (1690-1730).

Eric brings to life the pirates, who visited our fair shores: Stede Bonnet, Blackbeard, Richard Worley, Charles Vane, and of course the ferocious female pirates, Mary Read and Anne Bonny.

We are proud to include in the tour - at no additional charge - the Powder Magazine, a National Historic Landmark, and the oldest public building in the state.  It dates back to the original walled city of Charles Towne.

Private and group tours are available.
