Three Monos Ensemble presents: Minutes Before... A Short Play Festival
Minutes Before... is a festival of new work investigating how history can interrupt the daily routine of human activity. The seven plays presented take a look at peoples lives immediately before history takes place.
Come and witness the seven short plays written by the Playwrights selected:
1. Nelson Diaz-Marcano is a produced NYC playwright and an avid cinephile. Playwright NYC credits include Jane, Stalling, Smoking Babies and Around The Block.
2. Gabe Oppenheim is a writer who eats sardines. This fatty-acid-rich food, not having landed him a job, may soon be ditched in favor of eggs.
3. Ciara Lacy is a writer and producer of film and television. She holds a BA in psychology from Yale University.
4. Nedra McClyde holds an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. This is her first time as a playwright.
5. Patrick Shand is a writer of plays, screenplays, and prose. Recently, his play The Misadventures of Olive Sukkin was performed as a staged reading at the Arclight Theatre. He has short stories published in literary magazines and is working on a feature film with his company, Stinky Burger Productions.
6. Laura-Lisa Steinel is a screenplay writer who lives in TriBeCa. She has written several screenplays, is a team writer for "Hit the ground Productions," by director Andrew Jarecki. This is her first play.
7. Pia Wilson is a 2009 playwriting fellow from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and a member of the 2008 Emerging Writers Group at The Public Theater.
