The Promise of the Wild ~ Gary Ferguson
Radnor Hunt Malvern, PA
The Promise of the Wild: The Transformative Power of our Natural Places
Author Gary Ferguson will speak about the inspiring, humorous, and often passionate history of Americans coming to understand themselves through nature. Using a mix of research and nature mythology, Gary's presentation will focus on the challenge of reawakening our culture to the value of wild places.
Formerly an interpretive naturalist for the U.S. Forest Service, Gary is the author of 16 books on nature, science and history. His recent work, Hawks Rest (National Geographic), became the first book in history to win nonfiction Book of The Year from both the Pacific Northwest and Mountains and Plains booksellers associations. Gary's nature and science-based essays can be heard on National Public Radio throughout the country.
One of the most engaging speakers weve ever presented.
- Greg McGruder, National Geographic Society
