Art
The ARTS at Marks Garage Honolulu, HI
"Art" revolves around three friends divided by the deeper interpretation about what exactly art is. When Serge spends a small fortune for a white painting on a white background, his old friend Marc goes berserk, refusing to believe that Serge could actually like the painting. At its center, the play examines how we are shaped by others' views of us, much as our own views shape our perspective of what is art.
"Art" is directed by Artistic Director Paul T. Mitri, who will also join the cast alongside local luminary Tony Young and upcoming actor Ryan Wuestewald. Chesley Cannon will be serving as the set and lighting designer.
The next production will also bridge performance and gallery with Neil Labute's scathing look at how art is made, "The Shape of Things," performing in March at Marks.
