No Rules - Brushless Painting with Instructors: Jane Head and Jan Fogel - A Gualala Arts Workshop on October 30 - 31, 2010, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
These two workshops are a further offering of the No Rules - Painting With Texture class given in 2009 and all are welcome to participate in one or both exciting workshops (the other workshop is on Saturday and Sunday, March 27 - 28, 2010.
The artists will demonstrate brushless painting techniques using common workshop tools or kitchen utensils. Processes will include using acrylic paints and other media, stencils, sponges, sandpaper, your own hand. No rules apply here and we'll give you lots of new avenues to approach painting on wood or other substrates.
The hands-on sessions will supply the outlet for your new knowledge and the two new paintings you will complete during the two-day period.
Jan V. L. Fogel says, "My painting has changed dramatically in the past few years. Ideas, approaches and materials have constantly evolved and my enthusiasm increases lickety-split. Jane Head has been painting on walls for 25 years using rags, sponges, graining tools, floggers ("I'll bring one to the workshop"), plastic, newspaper, tissue, and all manner of tools, paints, textures and glazes to get an effect. Since living on the coast, she has experimented with even more obscure tools and products just to see what if? The effects are amazing and simple ("well some are!"). She now paints on very large solid core panels with everything in the kitchen and the kitchen sink!! See her Local Artist profile with images on our website, GualalaArts.org.

Tuition: $105 members of Gualala Arts; $120 non-members.
