Slow Food Saratoga Region's Scotch Whiskey Dinner at Max London's Restaurant

This dinner will feature tastings of a variety of Scotch and Irish whiskeys, which will also be paired with the great food at Max London's Restaurant in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The tasting will be led by Nigel Manley, an expert on the peaty waters.

Net Proceeds from the event will go to fund a new program for SFSR. This program will aim to teach basic cooking skills to people who do not have them. As Michael Pollan noted, we as a society are losing our ability to cook, leading to an ever greater reliance on processed foods. We hope to provide people of all backgrounds the basics of cooking so that they can more easily move past processed and fast foods and back to food that is good, clean and fair. Ideally this program should be free of charge. In addition to funds raised from events like this, we will need volunteers to help co-ordinate, set up and teach this program.
