Museum of California Design's 2009 Award Benefit & Auction honoring Rudi Gernreich & Peggy Moffitt
Please join us in the Hollywood Hills for light lunch and refreshments at the museum's 2009 Award Benefit and Auction. This year we will honor Rudi Gernreich (1922-1985) for his extraordinary contributions to American fashion, from the topless bathing suit to plastic clothing. Gernreich's principal model, and author Peggy Moffitt, will accept the award on his behalf.
Festivities will include an award presentation and silent and live auctions featuring outstanding vintage items and contemporary works of art, design and fashion. The live auction will be conducted by Peter Loughrey of Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA).
