SPOTLESS
Caroline is a teenage insomniac trying to run away to Flinn Flan Manitoba to be re-united with the love of her life, the orthodontist she had when she was 12. Angie hides in her broom closet talking to a photo of her late husband Frankie. Ernie tells crude tales of women he's wooed, lives with his mother and is head over-heals with Angie. All three are custodians at a psychiatric hospital. Without props, Emily Morwen seamlessly weaves these three stories together in this heartfelt comedy.
*Won Critic's Pick in The Star Tribune, Minnesota*
*Won Best Female Drama Award at San Francisco Fringe*
**** "Some actors have an endearing quality to the point that it is virtually impossible not to smile from ear to ear when you watch them. Emily has this quality in abundance -- so honest, funny at times, and most certainly heartfelt." - NYtheatre.com
**** "Gifted writer-performer...Her splendid solo comedy performance observes in gloriously quirky detail the neuroses and dreams of a man and two women on a hospital cleaning crew." - StarTribune, Minnesota
**** "Emily Morwen has crafted a gem...has created a rich physical environment without props or staging...she darts seamlessly between three distinct, idiosyncratic characters." - Pioneer Press, Minnesota
**** "The writing, acting and sheer energy this artist displays is astonishing. Look for her to go places..." -William Whitehurst (Playwright, Paris)
