This is the third of the Lowake, Texas series from Del Shores, the author of Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got the Will?) and Cheatin'.
It's the day before Christmas Eve and The Daughters of the Lone Star State are having their annual meeting in tiny Lowake, Texas. Few prospective members show up, which is just as well; the embittered president of the organization wants only women who think exactly as she does.
The problem is her way of thinking -- which involves sneering at anyone of a different race or social class -- seems more and more anachronistic, even in this small town. Change is coming in the form of mixed marriages and upper-middle-class minority members, and these ladies simply don't know how to deal with it.
Note: A note about "aisle seats": When ordering tickets online, please note that there are no "outside aisles" at Row D through Row F. Therefore, seats D1, E1, F1, D15, E12, and F13 are NOT aisle seats.
