The Monday Club of San Luis Obispo, September 8, 2014, General Meeting
The Business portion of the general meeting will commence at 11:00 a.m., followed by Luncheon at 12:00 p.m. and the Program at 12:45 p.m.
Victoria Kastner is the Official Historian of Hearst Castle. She has written and lectured about San Simeon's land and buildings for nearly thirty years and is also the author of Hearst Ranch: Family, Land and Legacy, Hearst's Castle: The Biography of a Country House and Hearst's San Simeon: The Gardens and Land. She is deeply versed in the relationship between William Randolph Hearst and his architect, Julia Morgan, as well as the relationship between William Randolph Hearst and his Ranch.
Victoria holds master's degrees from the University of California at Santa Barbara and George Washington University in public history, with an emphasis on architectural history. As a speaker, she shares her extensive knowledge about her life's work, and engages her audiences with passion. We look forward to her engaging insight and stories about Julia Morgan!
