Presented by East Midwood Jewish Center's Club Oasis. Featuring Cantor Sam Levine (vocals & guitar), Marjorie Sanua (vocals), Ben Lapidus (tres, cuatro, guitar), Jeremy Brown (violin, mandolin), and Ira Epstein (percussion). Refreshments available.
Ladino, derived from Hebrew and Spanish, can be thought of as a Sephardic analogue to Yiddish (a conflation of Hebrew and German) and is currently spoken by about 150,000 people, primarily in Israel, Turkey and Greece. |
