Come to the Soul Food Farm Benefit Dinner at Cafe Rouge, celebrate the rebuilding of Soul Food Farm, have a terrific meal and help support a local independent farm!
The event is shaping up to be an over-the-top fantastic meal, with the best area farms providing the all-organic ingredients. The inspiring menu, created by Marsha McBride and Rick DeBeaord of Cafe Rouge, and Christopher Lee, of Eccolo, will feature the best of our late summer produce,
Menu: Soul Food Farm Benefit Dinner at Cafe Rouge To start: Schiacciatta studded with Zinfandel grapes, and vegetables pickled "a la Grecque" Breaded and deep fried farm Egg with mixed Chicories and Romano beans Chris's Fish Soup with rouille and garlic crouton Mixed Grill platter of Locally Raised Meat and Poultry Fresh Shell Bean Ragout and roasted Late Summer Vegetables Figs with Honey Ice Cream Homemade Cookies
All vegetables are being provided by Full Belly Farms, the meats are from Devil's Gulch Ranch, Red Hill Farms and Clark Summit Farm of Marin.
Soul Food Farm, an independent producer of pasture-raised chickens and eggs, suffered a devastating fire on Sept. 3rd and lost 30 acres of pasture land, a barn that dates from the 1880's and other structures, plus 1000 chicks. Cafe Rouge, whose butcher shop has long carried Soul Food Farm eggs, is hosting a benefit prix-fixe family-style dinner ($50 including wine) Monday Oct. 5th from 6pm-9:30pm to raise funds for Soul Food Farm. All proceeds from the Soul Food Farm Benefit Dinner at Cafe Rouge will be dedicated to helping Soul Food Farm rebuild.
