Concertos & A Premiere
Hochstein Performance Hall Rochester, NY
Simon Pontin will narrate the premiere performance of On Wings of Song by William Cahn. Poems by Walt Whitman and songs that describe birds will be sung by the Bach Childrens Chorus. A refreshing new work!
Principal RCO oboist Emily Agnew, who also performs with numerous other orchestras and opera companies, will be featured in the buoyant D Minor Oboe Concerto by Antonio Vivaldi.
RCO concertmaster, David Brickman, is known for his versatility and highly personal interpretations. He has soloed with and is a member of the RPO and numerous other orchestras and chamber groups.
Patricia Sunwoo won the 1998 Naumburg Award as a member of the Whitman String Quartet, with whom she performed across the US and Europe to critical acclaim. Venues included Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. She joins David Brickman in J. S. Bachs inspiring Concerto for Two Violins.
