Domestic Labor Dinner
26 x 3 / Everard and Findlay Brooklyn, NY
Drawing inspiration from past periods of economic hardship, the Domestic Labor Dinner celebrates simple pleasures and simple tastes: the fruits and labors of local artists, farmers, and craftspeople. With earnest appreciation, we turn to the local-pastoral in order to revisit the past and re-imagine the future.
Please join us in conversations about labor, value, and alternative economies of means, while enjoying a farm feast inspired by the Food Files and Films of the WPA.
Celebratory hoedown to follow and is included in the dinner price.
Lila Dobbs, of Brooklyn Sour and co-host of CinemaKitchen, will be serving up a delicious multi-course meal. Lila, of Brooklyn Sour and co-host of CINEMAKITCHEN will be serving up a farm feast: fresh produce, meat on the side, homemade cheese, and fresh bread.
CINEMAKITCHEN is a monthly series that pairs the art of cinema with the art of cuisine. Join gastronomes and film buffs as we enjoy an artfully-prepared dinner and then digest while viewing a bit of cinema. Discover the world of food and film with our non-formal and non-traditional approach to education. In other words - eat, drink, & see movies!
WPA films about rationing, victory gardens, and domesticity and labor will be screened throughout the dinner.
