Etc...(Experimental Troupe Comedy) started in 1994 as a group of Stuyvesant High School students doing sketch comedy and improv at a local open mic at Jefferson Market Library. Over the years theyve performed regularly all over NYC and added innovative video and internet content to their repertoire, becoming a mainstay of New Yorks alternative comedy scene. ETC15 is a celebration of the troupe's body of work which includes live performances, pioneering video work, and interactive projects featuring stalwarts of New York's comedy scene including Kristen Schaal, Sarah Burns, John Mulaney and Billy Eichner. At ETC15, the group will produce six different shows highlighting their work over the years, live performances from the group and special guests, and premieres of some of their cutting edge interactive cross platform content which will launch during the 2009-2010 season.
Highlights of festival will include screenings of never-before-seen comedy shorts including The Party (Kristen Schaal, Sarah Burns, John Mulaney, Alison Becker);Hump Day (Melonie Diaz, Billy Eichner, Kristen Schaal); and Karaokers (Kimmy Gatewood), a mockumentary series about the thrilling world of semi-pro competitive karaoke. Along with these shorts, the group will premiere some of their new HD comedy series primed to launch next season.
