The Confidence Man

Woodshed Collectives production of The Confidence Man will be composed of a series of interwoven and simultaneously performed vignettes throughout the ship, and will evoke the whirlwind of both a riverboat journey and the everyday urban chaos of New York City. The audience will have the freedom to explore different elements of the play by choosing what to see and which characters story to follow just as one selects which newspaper stories to read, which YouTube videos to screen, or which online links to click. By allowing audience members to immerse themselves in the experience, the production seeks to blur the line between performer and patron, reclaim confidence in the power of live theater, and leave the lingering impression that the audience members themselves may not be immune to the confidence man's charms.

IF YOU RESERVE TICKETS AND DO NOT CLAIM THEM BY TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE CURTAIN THEY WILL BE RELEASED TO THE WAITING LIST.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a waiting list at each performance of the Confidence Man. Even if a show is marked "sold-out," please come down to Pier 40 and put your name on the list. Due to the nature of this performance and the fact that tickets are free, tickets almost always open up at the last minute. The list is started one half hour before curtain.

IMPORTANT: This performance is outdoors and moves all over the ship, which involves walking up and down stairs; it is not a seated event. Please note this when dressing for the event; sneakers or walking shoes are recommended.
Please also note that while you are encouraged to move around the ship, there are places to sit scattered throughout the venue. If you are not comfortable with the stairs, feel free to find a seat.
