Chamber Music Alive! Season Subscription (St. Mark's)
The Sierra College Foundation is proud to present the seventh season of Chamber Music Alive! Chamber Music Alive is a three concert series held at 2 venues; one in Sacramento and one in Rocklin at Sierra College. All three programs this season will have the continuity of featuring at least one work by Beethoven.
Concert One October 3, 2009 Our first set of concerts will feature Beethovens String Quartet, opus 18, #4. In addition, we will perform various works by the great Argentinian tango composer Piazzola and the beloved Czech composer Dvorak.
Concert Two January 30, 2010 The second set of concerts on January 30 and 31 will include Beethovens Sonata for Violin and Piano in F Major (Spring), Mozarts String Quintet in G minor, and Mendelssohns Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello in D minor.
Concert Three April 17, 2010 Our third set of concerts, scheduled for April 17 and 18, will be a full orchestral program, featuring the Virtuosi Orchestra the same group of musicians who performed to such great acclaim in the opening concert of last season. This will be an all-Beethoven program.
We will also be hosting a Season Premiere Fundraising Gala (not included in series subscription) again this year to support the continued excellence of Chamber Music Alive! It will be held after the first concert of the season in Loomis at the Conservatory at the High Hand Nursery Cafe. Join us for an enchanting evening in this beautiful setting which will include cocktails and dinner.
