Bale Grist Mill Harvest Dinner with Slow Food
On September 19 th at 6:00 pm Napa Valley Slow Food and the California State Parks will co-host a living history event at Napa Valleys Historic Bale Grist Mill, http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=482
The Bale Mill, built in the 1850s, is one of the last operating grist Mills west of the Rockies, and is a true testament to a Slow life. This event will encompass everything from gaining an understanding of life, and food in the 1850s to a meal prepared with local foods by the Silverado Brewing Company. Please find a summary of the afternoons events below;
- Tours and demonstrations of the Grist Mill with Miller Eric Gerhardt. - A fabulous meal as prepared by the team at Silverado Brewing Company featuring a Bale Grist Mill spent grain fed Mule Foot Hog - A silent auction - Napa Valley Wines - Specialy Brewed "Bale Ale" from Silverado brewer Ken Mee
Because of continuing state budget cuts all proceeds go to assist in the operation of the State park run Bale Mill.
