Charles Presents: A Trip Through the Multiverse w/ special guest DK Reinemer
Charles brings their acclaimed sketch comedy show "A Trip Through the Multiverse" to the Electric Lodge in Venice, CA.
A cerebral and imaginative sketch duo from Seattle, Charles is intelligent without sacrificing accessibility, seamlessly combining highbrow and lowbrow sensibilities into a brand of humor they call unibrow.
Charles (aka Chuck Armstrong & Charlie Stockman) have performed to critical acclaim throughout North America, including at the San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Toronto Sketchfests; the UCB Los Angeles; the PIT NYC; The Groundlings Main Stage Los Angeles, and the Comedy Central Stage Hollywood.
Winners of "Best Writing" and "Best Sketch Comedy" at the 2012 LA Comedy Festival, and Grand Prize Winners at the 2013 Seattle Comedy Film Challenge for their film More Rock, Less Talk.
Opening for Charles will be our tremendously good friend DK Reinemer performing part of his one man show "I'm This Many", one man's attempt to alter his delightfully dysfunctional hippy upbringing to solve a looming mid-life crisis.
Praise for Charles:
"These absolutely brilliant writer performers made the audience howl"
"These two guys are smart as whips... clearly something well-thought, deliberate, and deeply clever was going on."
"Sketch comic comrades Charlie and Chuck serve up a hyperliterate, design-savvy batch of skits... The writing is hip and dilettante in the best possible way... These are highly trained professionals, people, and this is seriously good comedy."
About DK Reinemer:
Actor, writer, comedian DK Reinemer ignites the stage in this high energy, sincere and mysteriously playful solo show about finding one's true identity. It will have your inner child laughing, crying and cheering for more.
