Mozzarella Making Course

18 Reasons
San Francisco, CA

Join Bi-Rite farm manager Simon and cheese buyer Anthea for an evening dedicated to the simple summer pleasures of heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella.

Anthea will demonstrate how to make fresh mozzarella, which we'll pair with Simon's tomatoes for a caprese that the class will eat.  Well also taste through a selection of fresh mozzarella and burrata offerings to complete the ultimate caprese salad. The mozzarellas' origin will range from as close as Berkeley's Belfiore, to Gustosella buffalo mozzarella imported from Southern Italy, to Italian burrata from southern Italy's Caseifico Maldera.  You will also learn about different types of tomatoes and taste the fruits of Simons labor.
