This conference will open a safe space for conversation and inquiry into the relationship between HIV and Christian faith. With invited speakers and themed workshops, we will pay attention to the wisdom of Christians who are living with HIV and who have been involved in HIV ministry. We will remember the past, reflect on the present, and imagine a more just, more loving future. It will be of interest to people living with HIV; friends and supporters; clergy and laity who are wondering about this form of ministry, or who are engaged in this ministry today; health care providers; and community leaders. All are welcome. We will focus on the situation in Britain, with reference to the international aspects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Themes we will explore include HIV and stigma; understanding healing; HIV awareness in churches; Christian peer support; caring for the 'body' of Christ; mobilising faith communities; and more... The day will end with a short service of prayer.
Speakers include Tina Beattie, Robert Calderisi, Angelina Namiba, Lazarus Mungure.
