Art Dash 2014 is an exciting first-of-its-kind benefit for Friends For Life Corporation.
For 29 years, Friends For Life has been enriching the lives of the men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS through a compassionate and holistic approach to the management of the virus. Friends For Life is the oldest and largest HIV/AIDS service organization in the Mid-South and one of the most comprehensive HIV/AIDS service organization in the Southern United States. The mission of Friends For Life is to help persons affected by HIV/AIDS live well. Our comprehensive, client-centered approach includes education, housing, food, transportation and healthy life skills training. We strive to enlighten the Mid-South community in a manner that heightens awareness, facilitates acceptance, and promotes prevention. The goal of Friends For Life is to be the provider of hope, help and healing for Mid-Southerners affected by HIV/AIDS until ultimately HIV/AIDS is cured and we can proudly cease to exist.
During the event, each Art Dash 2014 Premium Ticket Holder will be issued a number and Kacky Walton of WKNO FM will call out randomly chosen numbers. As each number is called, that participant will claim their favorite work from all those available. Works of art are in various media and genres: Paintings of all types, mixed media, print, jewelry, pottery, sculpture and photography. Premium Ticket Holders are guaranteed to leave the event with a beautiful work of art valued at least $100.
Please feel free to come join the festivities with our Art Dash Friend general admission tickets as well for only $25.
Theatre Memphis is generously providing the venue for the event. Complimentary hors d'ouevres will be offered with all tickets as well as wine, and beer expertly served by our great friends from Sips N Pours (www.sipsnpours.com).
In addition, any artist who contributes a piece of art valued at $100 for the Art Dash will receive a complimentary Art Dash Friend general admission ticket. Please feel free to contact Blake Meador, Special Events Coordinator at Friends for Life (blake.meador@friendsforlifecorp.org) for submission details. The closing date for submissions is set at July 8, 2014 to ensure inclusion in all event publicity and materials.
