Description
The great "Local Grill-off" will be the signature event of the first annual NYC Good Beer Month. The "Local Grill-off", at Water Taxi Beach, will benefit the Slow Food NYC Harvest Time and Snail Buck programs.

At the Grill-off, determined, aspiring chefs will battle it out for the title, "Good Beer Month Grill-off Champion", preparing traditional, and not so traditional, takes on grill fare..burgers, hot dogs, and  sausages..produced from sustainably and humanely raised animals. The contestant chefs will be joined by ringers from local restaurants. And, Six Point Brewery will offer their stellar brews.

Harvest Time supports edible Victory Gardens, Student Farm Stands, and Good Food and Nutrition Education at schools in East Harlem, on the Lower East Side, and in Williamsburg. Snail Bucks are redeemable coupons, funded by Slow Food NYC, that Greenmarket will use in educational programs to encourage kids, and parents, from targeted, food desert neighborhoods to buy healthy, fresh, local food from regional Greenmarket farmers.

The first annual NYC Good Beer Month Local Grill-off is sponsored by the Good Beer Seal. Good Beer Month will showcase Good Beer Seal neighborhood, good beer bars and outstanding brewers and benefit non-profit organizations engaged in the fight for good food, like Slow Food NYC.

Notes
Tickets bought on-line, in advance, are $30 for Slow Food Members and $35 for Non-members. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $35 for all.
The ticket price does not include beverages.
