The 1940's Radio Hour
The time: December 21, 1942.

The place: a small run-down New York City radio station, with no shortage of big characters.  Everyone from the curmudgeonly stage doorman to the bobbysoxer to the flask happy crooner have gathered to record a broadcast of the variety show, "The Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade" for the troops overseas.

Port Washington Play Troupe presents "The 1940's Radio Hour", a delightful comedy with musical hits that evoke the spirit of that bygone era, including "Strike Up the Band", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", "That Old Black Magic", "Blues in the Night" and many more.

All performances will be at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater at Landmark on Main Street, Port Washington, NY on:

    Fridays, July 18th and 25th at 8pm
    Saturdays, July 19th and 26th at 8pm
    Sundays July 20th and 27th at 2pm

Online tickets sales end two hours before curtain;  however, tickets will be available at the door (cash only).

*PARKING REQUEST* Members of the Greatest Generation have contacted both Play Troupe and the Landmark on Main Street about parking and access. We ask able-bodied patrons to consider parking on the street (meter spaces are free after 6pm and all day Sunday) to save as many spaces as possible for these elders in the venue's parking lot.

All seating is general admission (no reserved seating)

SPECIAL BENEFIT PERFORMANCE - the Sunday July 20th matinee will be a  benefit for the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults.  Tickets for this performance can be purchased at: www.bpt.me/667375

"The 1940's Radio Hour" was written by Walton Jones and presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
