Our Wilderness: America's Common Ground
Join us for a very special FREE evening with Doug Scott, one of the legends of the wilderness movement. An outstanding speaker and wilderness historian, Doug's multimedia presentation will include readings from his newest book, Our Wilderness: America's Common Ground, as well as slides which demonstrate the history and dynamics of wilderness protection.
Tim Coleman, Columbia Highlands Initiative Director for Conservation Northwest, will provide an historical perspective and update on local efforts for wilderness in our beautiful corner northeast Washington. A question and answer dialogue will follow.
You will also hear about Conservation Northwest's upcoming summer hikes and events, and have the opportunity to write a timely letter to Supervisor Brazell urging him to recommend the Colville National Forest's roadless areas for wilderness consideration by Congress.
Copies of Doug Scott's book, Our Wilderness: America's Common Ground will be available for sale and for the author to sign. Copies of Columbia Highlands: Exploring Washington's Last Frontier by Craig Romano, Conservation Northwest t-shirts and stickers will also be available. A portion of all proceeds benefit Conservation Northwest.
