Description
The Campus/Community Consortium of the Capital Region (4CR), in conjunction with Siena College, is pleased to annouce the First Academic Service Learning K-16 Summer Conference to be hosted at Siena College, Tuesday through Thurdsay July 14-16, 2009.

The conference is an opportunity for students, faculty, administration and Community Partners to learn more about various topics concerning academic service learning.  Some examples of topics are assessing impact, developing community partnerships, doing community-based research and thinking about ethics.

The conference is divided into three days.  The first day, Tuesday July 14th, will be from 12:00-4:00 PM and it will consist of introductory workshops for those who are less familiar with academic service learning.

The second day, Wednesday July 15th, will be a full day of plenary, breakout and networking sessions starting at 8:00 AM and finishing at 4:00 PM. Following that first full day (Wednesday July 15th), there will be a reception and dinner that conference participants may attend.  Other Capital Region officials and prominant figures will be invited to attend.

The third and final day, Thursday July 16th, will be another full day of plenary and breakout sessions starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM.

Conference participants are invited to attend all parts of the conference but if they are only able to attend certain days or sessions, that is fine.

As the dates of the conference draw near, a day by day intinerary will be available at http://4crsl.pbworks.com.
