Final Vinyl: A Rock Invasion!
CHANDLER, AZ: This June 10-13 at 7:30pm, students at Hamilton High School will premiere Final Vinyl: A Rock Invasion!, an original musical comedy about a tiny planet's clash with heavy-metal invaders from space.
The Hamilton theatre and music departments worked alongside playwright and composer Kevin Frei and a production team of local stage veterans to mount this ambitious production of more than fifty actors, dancers, musicians, artists, designers, and technicians.
West Valley residents may recall an earlier version of the musical that made a splash when a group of high school seniors produced the show at Glendale High School in 2003.
The playwright's other produced works include the biographical play Stuart, the one-act A Very Pirate Christmas, and various comedy sketches for Th [Sic] Sense Comedy Troupe. His rock musical Head! A Symphony of Horror and murder mystery/comedy Dial 'S' for Stripper were recently the #1 and #2 best-selling productions at the 2009 Phoenix Fringe Festival.
