CAMINO REAL by Tennessee Williams
Welcome to the Camino Real, a street that exists both everywhere and nowhere. Legendary figures from literature cross paths with doomed street people, all of them asking the same questions; "What is this place? How did I get here? How do I get out?" This play was given to us by Tennessee Williams in 1953 and met with very mixed reviews. Some critics believed this to be his best work while others walked out at intermission. Today, as we look at the current course of humanity and the choices we are facing, the play is perhaps more relevant now than when it was originally produced on Broadway. With its colorful cast of characters and fascinating landscape, Camino Real explores all the most important themes in life as well as the true meaning of the word "brother." How will it end? Does love conquer all? Join us on the Camino Real to find out..... Produced by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc.
