Slow Food Kanas City Presents Craig and Gay Jones Grilling Series
The Grilling Series instructors are a husband and wife team of locally based outdoor cooking enthusiasts, Craig and Gay Jones. Craig Jones was named the "Grill Mayor" in a national competition sponsored by Food Network and McCormick's Spices. He and Gay are also owners of Savory Addictions Gourmet Nuts. Craig cooks over live fire more than 300 days a year and believes everyone should get outside and grill. "I think cooking outdoors not only makes your food taste better, but it's a lot more fun," says Jones. "I'm going to show you how easy it is to do."
Gay Jones laughingly calls herself the "First Lady of the Grill" to align with Craig's "Grill Mayor" title. "Who says grilling is just for the guys?" She'll demonstrate grilling from a woman's perspective, taking the fear and mystery out of the stereotypically male-dominated realm of the grill. "And with Father's Day coming up, wouldn't it be fun to take over the tongs for a while?"
