Pilates at Brooklyn Grange
Summer evenings are the most magical time on the farm- come get a great workout and escape the sticky heat of ground level up on the roof! Erin Beneze will lead all level of practitioners in an hour-long Pilates session at Brooklyn Grange's Brooklyn Navy Yard farm. Classes will be held on our spacious paved patio at dusk, so that attendees can enjoy the herb-scented breeze as the sun sets behind the Manhattan skyline. BYO Yoga mat, water, and please make sure you have a photo ID for entering the yard.
This will be a mixed level class. The instruction will be clear enough for the beginner yet rigorous enough for the experienced practitioner. We will be focusing on core strength, neutral pelvis and spine alignment, shoulder stabilization and moving with your breath. You can expect a challenging workout for your body and a calming experience for your mind.
About Erin Beneze:
Erin teaches Pilates, dances and choreographs in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BFA in contemporary dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and is certified in equipment and mat Pilates through Long Beach Dance Conditioning under master teacher Marie Jose Blom. While living in Los Angeles she taught at Pilates Eagle Rock, Le Pilates Loft and was the resident Pilates instructor for the Cirque Du Soleil show Iris. Since moving to Brooklyn in 2012 Erin has had the pleasure of teaching at Progressive Pilates Williamsburg and Greenhouse Holistic.
This event will take place rain or shine. Tickets are non-refundable.
