Pema Chodron - No Time to Lose Meany Hall UW
Nalanda West is honored to host Pema Chodron for a teaching program on developing an open heart and patience amid the challenges of daily life. She will be teaching from her book, No Time to Lose, which addresses one of the most important spiritual questions -- how to free ourselves from the powerful spell of disturbing emotions. No Time to Lose has been called "the essential guidebook for fledgling bodhisattvas, those spiritual warriors who long to alleviate suffering, their own and that of others." It contains commentary on a classic Buddhist text by Shantideva with instructions on the practice of compassion and the cultivation of true confidence.
Dr. Karl Brunnholzl, a Western Buddhist teacher and accomplished Tibetan translator and author, will assist over the course of the weekend, leading meditation practice and discussion sessions. He is the author of several books on Buddhism, such as The Center of the Sunlit Sky, Straight from the Heart, In Praise of Dharmadhtu, and Luminous Heart.
The weekend program includes four talks.
