Movie & Discussion: Tableland

This program will include a viewing of Tableland http://p1-productions.com/tableland.html, a documentary and culinary expedition about the sustainable food movment in North America. Following the film we will have a a discussion led by Martha Ma. We will see how local farmers and chefs work togehter with other food do-ers to bring food from the field to the plate, and sicuss the four main issues the film tackles - sustainability, econocmics and marketing, health and taste education, and eating locally & seasonally. Guests will get to sample local and seasonal fare. Volunteers needed to help with sign-in at the door and to bring dishes made with Local and Seasonal ingredients
Note: Martha Ma is the Founder and Executive Director of Naniola Productions, which uses multimedia to promote local and sustainable agriculture, clean healthy eating, environmentally and socially conscious lifestyle, media awareness and active citizenship. Martha is also a Certified Holistic Health Counselor, a Community Chef with Just Food, and a food and media literacy educator. She is the editor of the monthly e-newsletter EaterÂs Digest, producer and host of The Tasty Life on Manhattan Public Access, and executive producer of the annual Food For Thought Film Festival.
