WHAT: A group of Iowa chefs will each prepare a heritage breed hog from head to toe for this competition. Cochon 555 is the only national chef competition promoting heritage pigs and breed diversity. Guests and professional judges will determine a winner based on creative, classic preparation and overall best flavor. The winner will be crowned the Prince of Porc. In addition, five family-owned wineries will showcase their wines. The event is presented by Diversified Financial Group, Inc.

Bernie Lowe & Associates will present a special VIP Lounge at 3:30pm. The VIP experience starts with the reserve wines of Elk Cove and artisan cheese reception by Gateway Market with special guest Herb Eckhouse of La Querica. Enjoy artisan cured meats from La Quercia, passed hors d'oeuvres from Caf De Scala, great Oregon wines and micro-brews from Fat Tire while mingling with the chefs, winemakers and judges of COCHON555 (this portion was $175, now $125). Then at 5pm, the main event begins with each chef serving their best pig dishes with amazing wines. COCHON 555 is a stand-up reception that includes copious amounts of swine, boutique wines, local salads, a pig butcher demo, great micro brews from Fat Tire, a pig perfect dessert by Taste Network and after party. This is a full day of new and old relationships and we look forward to sharing it with you.
