Mid South Grand Slam Final
Youth Speaks Nashville and Tennessee State University will host the Mid South Grand Slam Final with teams of the region's top young emcees, spoken word artists, and poets competing to represent the region in Chicago this summer.
"The Grand Slam Final was a breathtaking reminder of the power of creativity, hope, and free speech," read a letter to the editor of the Tennessean in response to last years slam. "If, as Shelley has told us, poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world, each of these tremendously gifted young men and women have my vote."
Don't miss this year's competition featuring both high school and college teams. See below for schedule.
