2014 APA LA Awards Gala
The Los Angeles Section of the American Planning Association is holding its annual Awards Ceremony to recognize outstanding planning and environmental achievements by individuals, cities, and businesses.  Each year we honor efforts that contribute to innovative or exceptional planning for the physical environment.  Winners are eligible for awards at the State and National levels.

This year, we are pleased to offer FREE tours of Broadway and the Los Angeles Theater before the ceremony! Please see below for details.

APA members receive discounted admission to the Awards Ceremony.

PLEASE NOTE - TO RECEIVE THE MEMBER DISCOUNT YOU MUST ENTER YOUR APA MEMBERSHIP NUMBER IN THE "Enter a Password or Discount Code" FIELD.  Multiple tickets can be purchased at one time, however each member's number must be entered to receive the discounted price.

Tour 1: Bringing Back Broadway
5-5:30 PM
FREE with awards ticket purchase, RSVP required
Before heading into the Los Angeles Theater to enjoy the awards gala, join representatives of Council District 14, LADOT, the Department of City Planning and the Los Angeles Streetcar to learn about the status of ongoing efforts to revitalize one of downtown LA's great streets. This brief walking tour will include discussion of the Broadway Streetscape plan, commercial adaptive reuse, historic theaters, and the streetcar. Tour departs from the Los Angeles Theater.

Tour 2: Behind the Scenes of the Los Angeles Theater
5:30 PM, 6 PM and 6:30 PM
FREE with awards ticket purchase, RSVP required
Docents from the Los Angeles Conservancy will lead a behind-the-scenes tour of our lavish awards venue, providing insight into the theater's history and architectural features and its place in the pantheon of Broadway movie palaces. Tours will depart from the lobby every half-hour from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

The Los Angeles section of the American Planning Association is one of eight local sections of the APA California Chapter. Comprised of over 1,000 members in the Los Angeles area, the LA APA helps bring APA members together to share information and resources and make our communities stronger and healthier.
