One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace
The Play; One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace:

A rich, older couple, a ragged sailor, a desensitized servant girl, and a corrupt guard; these are the characters of Naomi Wallace's beautiful play - One Flea Spare.  Forced to interact very closely over 28 days of quarantine, how will they fare?

The 1%, the middle-class working man, the fatherless child, and foul authorities; these are the characters of our world, today.  How do we treat each other when not even forced to be in close quarters every day?

It's a little easier to take a look at ourselves when we back up and see our reflections in the pool of a past time.  Naomi Wallace asks us to do just that with this play.

The Team and The Goal:

We have put together a FANTASTIC production team of younger designers/minds.  The main reason for going with younger Chicago artists is to make this an experience from which we can all gain exposure and an unified appreciation for collaboration.  While I have either worked with each member of this team, prior to now, or we have become friends through the community - we all have the same desire to do a show "on our own" and "just for the art."

We are looking to reach out to the theatre community and present a work that is independent of a season and separated from an already established company.

Design Team: Amanda Rozmiarek (Set Design), Megan Turner (Costume Design), Claire Chrzan (Lighting Design), David Samba (Sound Design), and Vivian Knouse (Props Design)

Cast: Caroline Phillips (Morse), Sean Jaskiewicz (Bunce), Scott Stockwell (William Snelgrave), Dori Erwin Collins (Darcy Snelgrave), David Guy (Kabe)

Other Team: Rosie Chevalier (Associate Producer), Evan Williams (Stage Manager), Will Dean (Assist. Lighting Design), David Abramov (House Manager/Box Office), Kelsey Colleen Melvin (Graphic Designer), Kevin Viol (Preproduction Photographer), Lynn Millspaugh (Production Photographer)

The Director: Jeffrey Clark Stokes

I have been working, actively, in the Chicago theatre scene for the 3.5 years since I relocated (Performed in 3 productions, costumed one, and stage managed six).  Prior to Chicago, I got my B.A. in Theatre (minor in Speech Communications) from Ouachita Baptist Univeristy.  There I discovered and developed my passion for directing.  Soon after finishing school - I put up a production of two one acts with related themes; "Plays in the Park," I called it.  After feeling that that was a success, I went on to direct a sideshow staged reading of 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane at the summer theatre company where I worked for two summers.

My feelings thus far have been that I can use whatever experience I gain to my advantage, as a director.  Here I am, having worked with 8 directors in the Chicago area - and being friends with a few more - ready to put all of my recent experience into a work of my own.

Please support our work and enjoy an evening with us!!
