Matcha whisking & Japanese tea ceremony
Teance is located in Berkeley, CA just east of San Francisco, home of some of the most leading gourmet food and beverage products in the world. The mission of Teance is to promote authentic fine teas and re-introduce the culture surrounding its appreciation. By providing the most pure, premium, seasonal whole leaf teas possible, we hope to introduce to the consumer the enjoyment, health benefits, and the serenity that comes with drinking tea.
Matcha, or powdered green tea, is considered the quintessential tea of refinement, prepared usually as part of an elaborate ceremony for high society. In practicality, Matcha is also considered the healthiest way to consume green tea and many would like to learn how to prepare it for everyday enjoyment. Take this class to learn how to whip up a foaming, jade green cup of matcha. If time permits, a Chanoyu demonstration will also take place. This is a hands on training and appreciation class.
